The drain pipe has holes in them for water to enter from the drain holes. So if your sink has drain holes, you're in luck. If not, the holes will introduce additional places where water leaks down if not sealed properly. Some additional details:1. The upper gasket seems to cause issues with the seal for the plumbers putty between the metal drain rim and the sink. I ended up removing it.2. Plumber putty needs to be placed above the bottom gasket and below the sink (under the sink), to prevent the drain hole waters from leaking down. I missed this step and scratched my head for a while (not a plumber, so maybe those who are more experienced will already know this)3. It wasn't mentioned in the instructions, but installers should consider using the hex key to open up the handles and put a dab of silicone grease on the moving parts. I've had faucets in the past get stuck because hard water calcified and prevent the valves from turning. Not sure if this will help, but I read somewhere that this is standard practice |

The pop up drain doesn't stay up high enough and water puddles I'm the sink. It does go down, just slowly. You have to pull it up to drain the rest of the water out if you want it out quickly. |
