You do have to use silicone to attach faucet I did try using putty it don't work,I thought the faucet would turn left and right it doesn't.the box did not contain directions to do pop up drain I had to look it up on u tube.im still having some trouble with the drain leaking,but the bathroom is seldom used.but it looks good on my sink.
